I'm sorry for not posting for a while because I'm adjusting from my new work, which is different from my last one.
Anyway, today's TTT topic is about the books that I (really) want for this Christmas.
Some of them are the books that I've been wanting to read since I first saw them in a bookstore or from Goodreads.
◘◘◘
1. The History of Love – Nicole Krauss
I kept on seeing quotes from this book in Tumblr and found myself wanting to read.
2. Thankless in Death – J. D. Robb
It's obvious really but I like the story basing from the synopsis and the sample chapter from Calculated.
3. The Other Boleyn Girl – Philippa Gregory
I'm planning to read this before her other books but I found The Boleyn Inheritance first.
4. Fairy Tales from the Brothers Grimm: A New English Version – Philip Pullman
I never get tired reading fairy tales even I am getting older. Plus it's edited by the author of His Dark Materials trilogy (which I like.)
5. A Discovery of Witches or Shadow of Night – Deborah Harkness
I don't know why really. Maybe because it involves magic and supernatural. I kept going back on them every time I go to the bookstore.
6. Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children – Ransom Riggs
The cover and the use of old pictures got me curious to check this book.
7. Cloud Atlas – David Mitchell
I was confused with the movie.
8. Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch – Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman
It reminded me of the movie Little Nicky when I read the synopsis but I think this is much better.
9. Midnight Children or The Satanic Verses – Salman Rushdie
My curiosity rules this one. I did like his Shalimar the Clown but I really want to read these two.
10. Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore – Robin Sloane
If it has a bookstore setting and has books in it, I go for it. Well not at all the time. Plus I like the cover.

With that, have a joyful Christmas, everyone!
Great list! I have a bunch on my TTT list that have been staring at me from my TBR list for a while, too. I keep going back to them but never actually buy them. And yet, I really want to read them. LOL!
ReplyDeleteI hope you get all these books from Santa and more!
Brilliant list. I love Philippa Gregory. She's such a great author. I hope that Santa brings you these books! Happy Christmas :-)
